There’s only one true route to success, and restoring your size, and the pathway is simple: get help from Ailyn.

But you can’t be gung ho about it. Patience is key. And don’t piss her off…

Take an indirect approach to Ailyn. Try not to alert her in the open, but equally don’t leave things too late.

Once you have enlisted her help, you then need to brave the lab and survive Penny. Again, don’t take too direct an approach, with Penny or Eva, and don’t be too aggressive to Hailey when you need her help.

As a general rule, the game punishes overly confrontational or selfish behaviour – help others and keep calm. Don’t spy on people on the toilet…

Keep these principles in mind and you should be able to get your size back… if that’s what you want!

Eva is an ever-present threat, beware! She can eat you, stomp on you or take you home to keep in a jar. As the main challenge in the game is avoiding her, I don’t think I need to say much more about getting in her bad books!

If you want to survive her, though, the key is to suck up. There are some dialogue options that only become available if you make the right choices early on: tell her you’ve been working, and spy on her computer and try to connect over what you see there.

You can see Eva shrunk by Jules, Daniela or Hailey. You need to take a direct approach with Jules, telling her about the shrink gun, and you need to encourage Daniela to fight. It is only possible for Hailey to when you reach the end game.

Probably the second-most prominent character, Hailey can be encountered at various times in the game. Depending on where you see her, you’ll have different possibilities. To go with her to the lab, you have to encounter her in the toilet.

You can escape the office with her either from the toilet or during the endgame with Ailyn – but once you leave there’s no coming back!

Beware, Hailey is impulsive, and easily upset. She can quickly flip from friend to foe. You will need her help to ultimately escape, but you can’t fully trust her…

Hailey can be shrunk by Eva if you make a scene in the Bull Pen, or if you try to escape with her in the endgame. She will be captured or crushed by Eva if shrunk.

Ailyn has the most complex outcomes in the game to unravel as she is the purest character, not meant to hurt you. In the original book it was only possible for her to hurt you by accident. In the game, with the right dialogue options, you can upset her enough that she will kill you.

To successfully interact with Ailyn after you’ve been shrunk, you must first either hide in the toilet or in her handbag. If you try to approach her elsewhere, you will either be hurt or taken from her before she can help.

To upset Ailyn, you have to make some bad choices at the very start of the game, before you are shrunk, and double-down on these when you encounter her later. Her animations can only be unlocked in the toilet encounter. There are multiple dialogue options that can cause her to eat you, but only one specific variation leads to the stomp animation: this involves upsetting her earlier and then trying to convince her you like her, creeping her out. Then, you must run!

To survive with Ailyn, she needs to take you to the lab and get shrunk with you. Then you can navigate the endgame together, generally by putting Ailyn ahead of yourself. You cannot be captured for life by Ailyn, she is committed to saving you! 

Daniella is only present in the first act of the game, between Eva and Daniella’s offices. She can eat or stomp on you either aware or not. She can also double-shrink you if she wins a fight against Eva: if this happens, it’s possible to be sucked up her nose (otherwise you are likely to be killed by Jules!).

Daniella is generally good-natured; she will only eat you when she thinks she’s imagining things. She does get angry, though, and panics. She will not keep you for life.

Daniella can be shrunk and captured or eaten by Eva, in most scenarios where you try to involve her, and she may be shrunk and eaten by Jules if you cause Jules to rampage.

Jules can be encountered in the hallway or in three sub-offices: if you hide in Eva’s office, Arnold’s office or the empty office downstairs. She is quick to violence and will rampage if you encourage her to take Eva’s shrink ray. She will either eat or crush you, but can also keep you in a pocket if you’re encouraging to her. If you upset her in her cupboard, she may put you in her boot…

Jules can be shrunk and captured by Eva if you warn Eva about her.

Of the other characters, the outcomes are likely to be limited to small encounters:

• Arnold may stomp you by accident or on purpose, and may take you away to keep for his family.
• Rita will stomp you if spotted in the open on the floor, or try to take you away if spotted in the open on the kitchen counter.
• Penny will eat you to cover her tracks. She may also shrink and capture Hailey, or be shrunk and eaten by Eva.
• Linda will stomp or eat you by accident if you get too close to her. She can by shrunk and squashed by Eva if you make a scene in the Bull Pen.
• Brian will stomp you by accident if you get too close.

Many of the achievements are fairly easy (sometimes inevitable) to attain. Here is a limited set of tips for the trickier ones:

• At least we’re together… – Get eaten along with Ailyn (possible when you are both captured by Eva or Hailey)
• You’re tearing me apart! – Get dismembered (only possible by being chewed up by Linda)
• Something in the pipework… – Get flushed down the toilet (possible by ruining Eva’s morning or upsetting Hailey)
• Some Friend – Get killed by Ailyn
• Toe Jam – Get squashed inside a shoe (possible by tripping inside Hailey’s shoe under her desk or after being captured by Jules)
• Worker’s Revenge – Unleash Jules’ rampage
• Healthy Snack – Get eaten by Linda
• This Sucks – Get killed by a vacuum cleaner (possible only be trying to escape alone after being double-shrunk by Daniella)
• Take a Breath – Get snorted up a nose (possible only after Daniella double-shrinks you)
• Toasty – Get cooked to death (possible only when hiding in the vents)
• So Close… – Get killed at the very end of the game
• Not like this! – Get killed by a male giant
• Provoked. – Make Ailyn willingly eat you
