Who wants some updates on all the writing releases I’ve got coming up?
It’s been a busy and pretty successful month! We had the release of both Under the Table and Small Wing, which were both really well received (not discounting a link snafu with UTT). It’s great to finally get Under the Table out there as (a) I’m delighted to see people enjoying it and (b) it was a massive project so I can now free up time for new stuff. I’ll definitely slowly start work on a new interactive book, but as it stands it’ll be a while coming given the work required.
Animations
So let’s start with the videos – my biggest video yet, Big City Time is available now, and you can see the trailer here. It’s taken ages and I could’ve done a lot more, but it’s done now and the results are pretty spiffy, if I say so myself. And just an indication of better stuff to come. If you get a chance, please do share the trailer. I’ve not planned the next big one yet, but I reckon I can fit in another 1-2 videos of this scale before the year’s out, if we’re lucky.
We’ve also had:
- my partially animated trailer for The Seized of Adradan
- Perspective Tricks (still subsciber exclusive)
- my other bigger project, Super Snacks
I’d like to follow up on Super Snacks at some point, and will produce similar trailers for my other comics (and maybe for some books?). I’ve also got a few more shorts in mind while I experiment more with Blender. Right now, I’m working on your everyday ‘girl chilling on a sofa’ video (a nice relaxing time for her, not so much for the soon-to-be snack pinned under her foot); that could be ready in August, but I’ll keep you updated.
I have plenty more animation ideas in mind, and not enough time to do it all, but some thoughts for the future are other city rampages, horror-esque cabin-in-the-woods scenarios and scenes from my stories. Given I’ve already started gamifying Under the Table, I should be able to produce a few animated shorts from that, for example. Won’t lie though it’s all rather addictive and time-consuming stuff, so sometimes I need to take a step back – there’s half a dozen or so unrealised ideas I had just for Big City Time which I just had to draw a line under…
Games!
My foray into games is a bigger and less consistent overall goal; Enclownter is still getting some interest (now available on itch), and I’m eager to do more interactive stories, but these are even more time-consuming projects. I made some good inroads into my Sensus Supra themed college shrinking adventure, Dorm Till Dawn, but progress has slowed while I focus on paying the bills. It is getting there, though, and I should be able to produce some images and videos to accompany it in the meantime.
In the deeper background, there’s the illustrated game version of Under the Table coming along, too. I made a good start on it and have a pretty full cast of models, so the groundwork’s done, it’s just a matter of converting everything into code and getting those illustrations posed.
Books & Serials
In fiction, everything’s been ticking along smoothly, if not quite so prolifically as before. We’ve had some solid releases this year, including:
Our latest serial, The Lost Tour Group, spread to practically novel length, somewhat unintentionally, but that’s almost finished now, so what’s to come?
Starting weekly for subscribers in mid-August, I’ve got a house party story that sprang to mind recently. The Biggest Party in Town features a moody tomboy lesbian who’s invited all the beautiful cool kids to her (crazy inventor) dad’s mansion for a huge party. It obviously gets out of hand, and the cool kids aren’t very nice… Expect the usual shrinking and growth, with a dash of extra-small, unaware material – not things I usually do.
As we get through summer, you can bet I’ll then also have some fresh horror for the haunting season.
Comics
Comics have been lower on my priorities at the moment, and I don’t have a new one planned right now as I’m focusing more on the animations and games. If time allows, I might creep something new in here, but these things have a habit of emerging out of nowhere, so it could appear without warning. You’ll be the first to now when it emerges, anyway!
Any Other Business
This has been a hefty lot, so I’ll just briefly cover some minor updates too. I’m building up my YouTube subscriptions, which is great to see, and am starting to put paid content on DeviantArt, with a store to follow on my own site, as alternatives to Gumroad. In the background, I’m going to update my email newsletter service soon so I can put out more there in future. You can also follow me on Twitter for another chance to see updates.
It’s a lot, isn’t it.
I’m taking a break in August, when I’ll be away for a couple of weeks, in case I’m slow on replies, but I’ll have material scheduled for when I’m away so my absence should barely be noticeable… In the meantime, take it easy and soak up that good, good giant women terrorising little victims fun!
